Following the release of the folk-based We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions album, Bruce Springsteen opened the 2006 New Orleans Jazz Festival in one of the most challenging moments of his career. It was eight months after the devastation of hurricane Katrina, and Springsteen knew that his new band - in their first concert appearance - needed to rise to the occasion and help lift the spirits of the city.

Featuring cuts from The Seeger Sessions, as well as new versions of Springsteen classics Johnny 99, Open All Night and My City of Ruins, the riveting, unforgettable performance ranks as one of Springsteen’s personal Top Five favourite shows and stands as a tribute to his ever-evolving career and the healing power of music.
